Founded in 1969, Hydro, Inc. is the largest independent pump rebuilder in North America.

In addition to our 2 locations in Canada and 5 U.S. facilities, we have subsidiaries in Australia, Korea, Venezuela, Mexico and India. Hydro, Inc. and its subsidiaries provide quality service and support to industrial, municipal and power generation plants throughout the world.

A strategic addition to Hydro's well-established network of service centers, Safe-T Hydro manufactures and distributes mechanical seals for industrial and special applications. Through our subsidiary KJI Hydro, Inc., we distribute a complete line of submersible pumps. We also manufacture and market high energy boiler feed pumps and replacement parts through our subsidiary BFI Pump Co, located in Houston. BFI Pumps (formerly Pacific BFI 8" and Above) are installed in industrial and power plants throughout the world.

Our mission was developed in the mid 1980’s when we realized that as an independent pump rebuilding company, we had a unique understanding of the different designs and materials employed by the various OEM’s. With this knowledge, Hydro was in an excellent position to improve upon the existing designs of several OEM's.

As a result of Hydro's joint effort with Dr. Elmer Makay, the utility’s consumer advocate for understanding and solving root causes of equipment degradation and failure on high-energy pumps, successful performance improvements were obtained in the field.
